Over the years, distinguished award recipients have included Rick Bayless; Julia Child, CCP; Jacques Pépin, CCP; Judith Jones; Ingrid Esplid Hovig; Richard Sax; Anne Willan, CCP; and Martin Yan, among others. The IACP Board of Directors serves as the Special Recognition Awards Committee, which, based on established criteria, determines winners in five Special Recognition Awards categories: Humanitarian, Lifetime Achievement, IACP Volunteer of the Year, Community Service, and Milestone. Any culinary professional may nominate him/herself or another culinary professional for the Humanitarian, Lifetime Achievement, and Volunteer of the Year Awards. Only the Volunteer of the Year Award requires that the nominee be an IACP member. The Community Service and Milestone Awards are determined at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors, with recommendations for the Community Service Award provided by the Annual Conference Host Committee.
