Food Photography Contest

Our contest is organized by the Food Photographers and Stylists section of the IACP. This year, our contest is open to both IACP members and non-members.
The contest is based around a theme, which this year is “Food in Action.” This could mean food that tumbles, flies, bubbles or pours. It could also mean political action, where the artist addresses food policy or hunger. It could even mean food going from farm to market, fork to mouth. Contest themes are intended to be open to the artist’s interpretation. The most important issue is that you show your best work from the past 15 months.
ALL entrants will have their work electronically displayed on large screens, along with their name, throughout the Creative Showcase at our 2015 IACP Annual Conference. Top ten finalists will be displayed in the hotel lobby throughout conference.
Awards in two categories will be presented:
2015 IACP Food Photograph of the Year | Prizes: $250 and an IACP membership
2015 Peoples Choice in Food Photography | Prize: $100 and an IACP membership
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals chosen by the FPS section Chair. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, artistic merit and overall impact as well as how succesfully they depict the contest theme.
Ten finalists will be chosen from all submitted entries and displayed at the annual conference. (Finalists will be contacted, and asked to submit a high res file suitable for printing). All entries will be displayed on large screens at our Creative Showcase at 2015 IACP Conference. Winners will be announced by Jacques Pépin!
The 2015 IACP Food Photograph of the Year will be chosen by the judges and announced at the conference. The People’ Choice Award will be chosen by IACP members by on-line survey from the 10 finalists. Members who are present, and those not present, may vote for the people’s choice. One vote per member.
